Zinc Cladding Project for Stoke City FC

Aluminium Cladding

Stoke City Training Pavillion

Delivered a striking, fully non-combustible zinc-clad building envelope for a football club.

Kingsley Hard Metals Ltd undertook the main building envelope works on this landmark project, which included  VM Zinc standing seam cladding installed on a 45-degree angle to produce a visually stunning appearance, and showcase various VM Zinc material finishes and design applications.  Also, the installation of 350m2 of Tata Trisobuild, 600m2 Radmat flat roofing, paving slabs and 100m2 of composite balcony decking.   The works complimented previous phase builds using the same materials.

KHM designed, supplied & installed a fully non-combustible substrate to the zinc cladding areas in line with VM Zinc guidelines & the FTMRC Guide to Good Practice.

Belfry Façade Systems assisted with specialist fabrication & material. Through working closely with both AFL Architects Manchester, Speller Metcalfe Wolverhampton & various building consultants – KHM helped to deliver a visually striking & robust multi-purpose building to suit the everyday needs of the football club & its staff.

The project was far from straightforward due to time constraints & access considerations and took meticulous planning & co-ordination to result in a very happy client & principal contractor.

The complexity of the panel orientation only added to the challenges on this scheme, and we are very proud to have achieved such a striking finish.

“It was a great feeling to see the excitement of players and staff as they moved into the new building. A lot of dedication has been required by many people to move this project forward at pace and I would like to thank staff for their significant contribution to the Development”.

Richard Smith, Vice-Chairman, Stoke City FC
